Nutrition

The fuel for the entire human system. What we put in the machine will yield a result. The Nutrition element is a tricky one. The amount of information out there regarding Nutrition can be quite overwhelming and confusing. It seems there is always one report or study that counters another. It is a complex matter due to multiple variables, however we hope to minimize the confusion by simplifying it to a certain degree. My personal view is that your daily nutritional habits should not increase your stress levels. There are many who begin a fitness regimen and become obsessed with constantly trying to get the "perfect" nutrient matrix. What this causes is an elevated level of cortisol due to the added stressor of “getting it right”. When it comes to nutrition, there really is no "right" or "wrong" way to do it. What we would rather see is a general protocol done on a daily basis to yield a desired result.

Here are my basic recommendations on nutrition: Most important is Hydration. Drink a minimum of 1/2 ounce of water per pound of bodyweight per day. Consume lean meats, fish, eggs, and milk if it doesn’t cause gastric distress (try Lactose free). Nuts and seeds in moderation, vegetables (organic), some fruit (organic), some starches (simple and complex) to fuel training, and no sugar.

Apply these practices "On the Daily." I have used  this principle for a number of years and it simplifies the process. Let's be honest, we live in America and are inundated by a plethora of food choices. Most of us are extremely busy in our day-to-day lives and don't find or make time to count our calories and macronutrients. Once you institute this simple guideline, you can reduce your stress about dieting, because you are simply following an easy-to-use platform. And most importantly; EXERCISE!
